Grand Canyon-Esque Terrain, Greenery & Sparkling Rivers: Rohit Kapoor On Cycling From Manali To Leh

Rohit Kapoor, India and South Asia CEO of OYO Hotels and Homes, a few years ago, along with the Gurgaon Road Runners (GRR), cycled from Manali to Leh. The group cycled up to 80 km a day and witnessed changes in temperature at different points. "Temperatures ranged from -5 to 40 degree Celsius in a single day, so we were constantly shedding or adding layers of clothes while cycling," he told ET Panache. Kapoor shared interesting stories from the road. These included no network and no hotels along the way. "On the second day, I was struck with AMS (acute mountain sickness), for which oxygen cylinders are the only remedy. I missed half a day of cycling that day," he said.
