Massive Earthquake Of 6.3 Magnitude Hits Jammu And Kashmir, Parts Of North India newsnation.in
A massive earthquake jolted parts of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. The tremors were felt around 04:35 pm. Reports of tremors are also coming from New Delhi, Chandigarh, Kashmir as well as several towns in Pakistan, including Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtun region. “The epicentre was near the India-Pakistan border. The closest big city to the epicentre is Rawalpindi (in Pakistan’s Punjab province),” said J L Gautam, head of operations at the NCS.
People rushed out of their homes and offices in panic in several places, including in Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana. According to IMD, Earthquake of magnitude 6.3 on the Richter Scale hit Pakistan – India (J&K) Border region. However, there has been no report of any loss of life or property from the quake.
