The BJP-led state government, days away from relinquishing control before the assembly polls, has proposed investments in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh for two resorts. Tourism minister Jaykumar Rawal, after Tuesday’s cabinet meeting, said a budgetary provision of Rs 1 crore has been made for each of the resorts, proposed in Srinagar and Ladakh. Last week, Union home minister and BJP president Amit Shah had emphasized during chief minister Devendra Fadnavis’s yatra that the Modi government’s decision to defang Article 370 would be the key issue for polls in Maharashtra, the first state going to polls after the announcement.
